Hannah Jones worked as an elementary and middle school art teacher in Raeford, North Carolina for six years before deciding it was time for something new. “

There were some great experiences teaching and some very frustrating times,” said Jones. “Not only was I burnt out and extremely busy raising my two young daughters, but a lack of public art funding and a general desire for change brought me to the realization that I had to walk away.”

Soon, she stumbled upon Wine & Design. Although Jones had explored similar paint and sip concepts with friends, she was unfamiliar with the Wine & Design brand and was surprised to find a studio in her local area. After doing some research, she knew that the fast-growing franchise was the perfect opportunity to utilize her visual arts background and passion for painting.

Since the brand’s 2010 origin in North Carolina—and introduction to franchising shortly thereafter—Wine & Design has offered guests a fun way to create memories and masterpieces, expanding to more than 70 locations in 20 states. With a variety of two-hour classes, Wine & Design provides the glasses, canvases, and paintbrushes as a local artist guides guests through the evening, stroke-by-stroke.

“Once I took that leap of faith and started working with Wine & Design, I completely fell in love with the concept,” said Jones. “I began as an instructor in North Carolina for about six months before being promoted to manager. After growing and learning with that studio, I decided to venture out to Boise, Idaho to invest in a new location with my husband.”

According to Jones, Boise is the perfect metropolitan market for Wine & Design. Recently rated one of the top growing cities in the U.S., Boise is known for being an active, health-conscious and outdoor-centric community. As Jones pointed out, Wine & Design’s diverse revenue streams offer the ability to collaborate with local businesses while also bringing a brand new flavor to the area.

“My husband is also from Colorado and we knew we wanted to come back out West,” said Jones. “People will always need something to do indoors, but because our concept is so mobile, we can take the painting outdoors as well to capitalize on the city’s beautiful nature. Boise’s active drinking and social lifestyle will also carve the perfect niche for Wine & Design’s celebratory atmosphere.”

Eager to get involved with the Boise community, Jones plans on partnering with local breweries and wineries to bring spirits to her studio.

“Everyone loves participating in a fun activity,” said Jones. “In the Boise subdivision neighborhood that I live in, there is a high population of residents with not a lot of options for things to do. A Wine & Design in the area will give the residents a modern, chic and fun activity that appeals to everybody, from kids to professionals.”

In addition to working with these local companies, Hannah and Evan Jones hope to reach out to the Boise community and expand the business throughout the area. The Joneses have a ton of faith in the concept and believe it will fit perfectly in the Boise, Idaho, market. As the family begins their adventure, Wine & Design offers a hopeful and positive inspiration for the future.
