Paint Questions

Q: What kind of paint is used?

A: Most classes are taught with Acrylic Paint. However we do offer speciality workshops, kids camps and DIY classes that will use different mediums including but not limited to watercolor paints, water based wood stain, glue, oil pastels, charcoal and resin.

Q: Do you provide aprons?

A: Yes we do have adults and kids size aprons that you are welcome and encouraged to wear during your time in the studio.

Q: What should I wear?

A: Guest should wear “paint clothes” ie clothes that you don’t mind getting permanently stained. Acrylic paint DOES NOT typically come out of clothing once it has dried. DO NOT WEAR CLOTHING THAT YOU CARE ABOUT GETTING PAINT ON.

Q: Will paint get on my person and/or personal belongings? ie purse, carry all bag, coat, backpack, lunch bag, eyeglasses etc..

A: Depending on the technique being used it is possible for paint to be splattered on you and/or your belongings by yourself or by another guest. We do have coat hooks and shelves under the table to store personal belongings in while in the studio that general serve as plenty of protection, however the safest way to protect your belongings is to leave them in the car or at home.

Q: What do I do if paint gets on my personal items or in my car?

A: Acrylic paint does generally come off of hard and slick surfaces with a sponge (when paint is wet), plastic scraper, finger nail, or razor blade. It is harder to get Acrylic paint out of fabrics and carpet, especially once it is completely dry. If you get Acrylic paint on your clothes, bag or something of the like, the best thing to do is to wash the item with soap and cold water immediately while the paint is still wet.
