Harriet Powers Inspired Coasters
Join Aubrey Richards Boutique x Wine & Design and our local Museum for a special coaster-making experience inspired by the story quilts of Harriet Powers—an artist whose work holds history, faith, imagination, and lived truth.
In the spirit of Juneteenth, this workshop is offered with warmth and reverence: a creative gathering that honors legacy, celebrates Black artistry, and invites you to slow down and make something meaningful.
What’s Included (Premier Experience)
- Small-group workshop (limited capacity)
- Artist story moment + curated display at Aubrey Richards Boutique
- Two presketched coasters (choose your designs in advance)
- Guided instruction + all materials provided by Wine & Design
- Food-safe resin finishing by Wine and Design RVA
- Pickup the following Wednesday after 1pm + email notification when ready
Designs are pre-sketched for you—so you can simply paint, personalize, and enjoy the process. Choose two designs during registration from four options: 1 — Home, 2 — Dove, 3 — Sun, 4 — Chicken/Turkey.
Ticket Details + Policies
Designs are pre-sketched for you—just paint and make it your own. You’ll choose two coaster designs during registration from the four options provided.
Your coasters will be finished with a food-safe resin and ready for pickup the following Wednesday after 1pm. We’ll hold finished pieces for 30 days. You’ll also be notified by email when they’re ready for pickup.
No refunds. If you’re unable to participate, we’re happy to reschedule your spot within 60 days with at least 2 hours’ notice.
