Today, Wine & Design has grown to more than 80 locations, spanning 22 states—four of which were completely new markets for the brand in 2019.

Wine & Design had a successful year as far as expansion is concerned in 2019, in large part due to its low franchise cost, easy-to-follow business model and multiple revenue streams. Wine & Design opened six new studios in five new markets in four states in addition to signing seven
new franchise deals in markets including Boise, Idaho; Madison, Wisconsin; Warner Robins, Georgia; and Madison and Montgomery, Alabama.

Expansion aside, the paint and sip concept had two existing franchisees open additional studios, too, exemplifying the viability of the brand’s business model in the process. The Jamestown, North Carolina franchisee expanded 2 hours and 30 minutes west to Asheville; and the Morehead City, North Carolina franchisee opened another studio 25 minutes west to Emerald
Isle.

“This past year was really a great one for Wine & Design,” founder and CEO Harriet Mills said. “We celebrated six new studio openings in four brand new states, which was exciting in and of itself. Expanding our national presence is really awesome for us as it allows so many more people to enjoy our experience and what Wine & Design has to offer.”

What’s more, Wine & Design debuted a brand-new headquarters facility in Raleigh, North Carolina. The new 2,700-square-foot facility officially opened its doors on December 18, 2019, on the top floor of the Raleigh Union Station in the city’s Warehouse District. According to Sheri Hill, Wine & Design’s Franchise Sales Manager, the headquarters sports an industrial and modern
aesthetic, with large glass windows and beautiful views of the city.

“Our new headquarters serves as a space for new franchisees to learn the ropes in an environment similar to one they’ll soon be running themselves,” Mills said. “In addition, it provides the corporate team a space in which to develop projects, campaigns and other resources before they are officially rolled out to the entire franchise system.”

“We’re excited to have this space to work, flush out new ideas and really just have a more professional space for our prospective, new and existing franchisees to use as a resource,” Mills added.

The brand also added two new members to its executive team: Rob Brittain as Director of Strategic Growth and Innovation and Jameson Ballentine as Account Manager and Support Specialist.

With 2019 as successful as it was, Wine & Design has high hopes to build on this momentum into 2020 and beyond. “This year, we are aiming to continue to expand in our newly acquired markets,” Mills said. “We are excited to build more brand awareness and help bring joy to more people around the country. And as always, we are striving to continue to grow our resources and
tools for our franchisees so they are able to be the most successful paint and sip studio out there.”

And according to Mills, a new division, marking the company’s sixth, is in the works and will hopefully be launching sometime in the first quarter of 2020. Also launching in Q1 is a new Wine & Design website.

The startup costs for a Wine & Design franchise range from $69,950 to $221,200. The franchise fee is $25,000.
