Wine & Design, a new paint and sip business that offers private and public events for groups of all ages, opened its doors Thursday during a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The new business, located at 101 Holiday Court in Franklin at the Royal Oaks Plaza, welcomed members of the Williamson, Inc. chamber and community supporters for the event. Chamber Senior Vice President of Community Relations Nancy Conway said the store will have a huge economic impact on Franklin.

The store is the first of its franchise in Tennessee and employs seven workers. The company has more than 75 locations spanning from Hawaii to New York and expects to open more locations in Franklin in the next few years.

Franchise owner and general manager Niccole Jackson said the first week will celebrate the grand opening with a variety of discounts and classes offered.

“We do pre-traced canvases, so guests aren’t starting on their own,” she said. “People can sign up ahead of time, so we know how many to expect for each event.”

The store will serve as a venue for special events, including birthday parties, bachelorette parties, baby showers, date nights, group painting classes, business team-building and many more. With a background in human resources, Jackson said she will be able to engage participants in team-building activities.

Heather Speizman, the company’s director of marketing and programs, demonstrated these team-building activities with members of the chamber as participants.

The company also provides a “Paint It Forward” division, which specializes in hosting private and public painting parties and donating a portion of the proceeds to local or national organizations.

Wine & Design offers classes and events for all ages, including Art Buzz Kids, which includes camps and classes for kids. The store advertises “Anyone can get your art buzz on,” but guests over the age of 21 may bring alcohol to their classes.

The store is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, visit [email protected] or call 615-224-8082.
