An Invitation to Let Your Inner Artist Out in West Ashley, SC
Conveniently located close to downtown Charleston, right off Ashley River Road in West Ashley, SC, individuals and families in this community will find the creative night out they have been looking for. At night, adults come to the studio and sip up, while they are taught step-by-step by a local artist, to paint an amazing, original piece of art. Adults are able to bring their own beverage, food, or anything else needed to make the night unforgettable. In addition to offering public and private painting parties at the studio, we also host parties at various off-site locations! You may have seen us at College of Charleston, Mellow Mushroom, Triangle Char Bar and Grille, The Sanctuary on Kiawah, Firefly Distillery and more!
During the day, Wine and Design is transformed to a family-friendly art studio! We call it Art Buzz Kids and it is the kid’s (and tween’s) division of Wine and Design. We offer famous summer camps for ages 3-17 and amazing birthday parties! We travel with our kiddo division too! You may have seen us at local schools, fairs, and festivals downtown!
Who is Behind the West Ashley Wine and Design?
Meet Sarah Stahlhuth Dubay, owner of Wine and Design in West Ashley. She lives in Avondale with her husband, Bryan and their three dogs. She grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and has loved Charleston from an early age after vacationing every summer on Kiawah. She graduated from the College of Charleston with a degree in Early Childhood Education and completed her Master’s in Education from the University of Missouri.
Two things that have always been prominent in Sarah’s life are teaching and art. She enjoyed art classes throughout school, specifically painting and pottery. For the past seven years she taught preschool through Second Grade and she’s always tried to incorporate her love for the arts into the classroom. After moving back to Charleston she celebrated a birthday by having a wine and painting party, and the rest is history. She is thrilled that she has found something that perfectly combines two of her favorite things, in the perfect atmosphere for learning and creativity.
